Monica has over seven years of experience in environmental sustainability policy working on a variety of issues from water treatment engineering. contaminated sites, ocean pollution and climate change to clean technology. She is excited to be working for WESNO to help more womxn join and advance their careers in Ottawa to help tackle these important issues and move to a low-carbon and sustainable future. 

Monica a plus de sept ans d'expérience en politiques de durabilité environnementale. Elle a ravaillé sur une variété de questions allant de l'ingénierie du traitement de l'eau aux sites contaminés, en passant par la pollution des océans, les changements climatiques et les technologies propres. Elle est ravie de travailler pour WESNO et d'aider un plus grand nombre de femmes à entamer et à faire progresser leur carrière à Ottawa, pour aider à résoudre ces problèmes importants et pour aller vers un avenir durable et à faible émission de carbone.

Jade Monaghan is currently a Policy Advisor with the Government of Canada, where she works to advance international collaboration on science, technology, and innovation. She has a breadth of experience in youth leadership and community service, food sovereignty and justice, and environmental issues. She has spoken at international conferences and co-authored a publication with Dr. Mick Smith. Jade is keen to build strong networks in the sustainability community in Ottawa and to support and empower womxn in their careers. 

Jade Monaghan est actuellement conseillère de politiques auprès du Gouvernement du Canada, où elle travaille à faire progresser la collaboration internationale en matière de science, de technologie et d'innovation. Elle possède une vaste expérience en leadership chez les jeunes, en service communautaire, en souveraineté et justice alimentaires, ainsi qu’en questions environnementales. Elle a pris la parole lors de conférences internationales et est co-auteure d'une publication avec le Dr. Mick Smith. Jade tient à établir des réseaux solides dans la communauté de la durabilité à Ottawa, et à soutenir et habiliter les femmes dans leurs carrières. 

Stefany, a former international student, recently completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Norwegian universities in the fields of Education and Environmental Studies. Her academic pursuits, which were taken abroad in Norway, and experiences have nurtured her strong passion for sustainable livelihoods. This is reflected in her research thesis which focused on exploring alternative livelihood opportunities for forest-edge communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In addition to her dedication to sustainability, Stefany also holds a keen interest in promoting gender equality and supporting indigenous participatory approaches towards sustainable development.

Anne has just finished her Bachelor’s degree in Global and International Studies: Migration and Transnationalism, Minor in English, at Carleton University. She was a research and marketing intern at The Rediscovery Centre in Dublin, Ireland over the summer of 2022, and has spent the past year diving further into the sustainability-based research she started while she was there. Anne has written several papers on sustainability in the global textiles industry, and she just completed her Honours Research Paper on the topic of how Canada’s governments, brands, and individuals can develop a more circular domestic textiles industry.

Naomi is currently completing her master’s degree in International Affairs at Carleton University, with a focus on environmental security and the nexus between climate change, population displacement, and humanitarian aid. Naomi is also the Founder and Coordinator of a French Mentorship Initiative in her master’s program and is particularly interested in equitable development, gender, and EDI (equity-diversity-inclusion) challenges.
 

Naomi termine actuellement sa maîtrise en affaires internationales à l'Université Carleton. Elle se spécialise en sécurité environnementale, notamment sur les enjeux qui lient les changements climatiques, les déplacements de population et l'aide humanitaire. Naomi est aussi la fondatrice et la coordinatrice d'une initiative de mentorat en français dans son programme de maîtrise et elle s’intéresse particulièrement au développement équitable, aux défis liés aux genres, et à l’EDI (équité-diversité-inclusion).
